So what is yoga exactly?
Yoga originated in India many years ago. The word yoga is
derived from the Sanskrit word meaning union. This is typically
interpreted as the union between body, mind, and spirit. Yoga
is a system of asanas (postures) that are performed with great awareness of the breath.
It is this focus on the breath that makes yoga different from
other exercise. By being mindful of the breath, you can pay
attention to how you feel both mentally and physically. This
awareness enables you to bring the body and mind into alignment.
